Deena Abramson
Program Development Specialist
Deena is the Clinical Programs Supervisor and Program Development Specialist! She supports program design, development and implementation of Le Tusa Programs. Her offerings include therapeutic services for individuals and their families, and the co-facilitation of Le Tusa's Heart-to-Heart, CONNECT and PASSION programs. Deena is grateful to support each individual's imagining of what health, wellness and empowered living means to them. Defining, planning and discovering unique approaches to reaching goals is a priority! Deena feels grateful to support and bear witness to the vulnerability, strength and fierce advocacy that exists in working with developmentally and/or intellectually disabled adults and their support networks.
Deena holds a B.A. in Social Welfare and Gender/Women's Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a M.S.W. from the University of California- Berkeley and is a registered Associate Clinical Social Worker with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. She is committed to and particularly passionate about community mental health and its connection to disability/economic/racial justice. She remains interested in relationships, family systems, parenthood, anxiety, and grief.
Deena enjoys swimming, cultivating houseplants, exploring herbal medicine, drawing cartoons and listening to live music.
